Mezzoforte in Sofia (Sofia Jazz Peak – part І)

{Mezzoforte} Mezzoforte at Sofia Jazz Peak 200718th of April, Hall 1 of National Palace of Culture (NDK). Mezzoforte. Giants!!

I couldn’t even imagine such an energy wave, but it is always a wonderful feeling to go somewhere without any expectations.

So there was space left for being enchanted. :-)

The instrumentalists from the band “Te” were there at the beginning, playing nicely for about twenty minutes before the headliners, but when Mezzoforte came out on the stage, the level of this event was lifted with some floors higher.

They are from Iceland. Well, at least most of them. This was their third visit in Sofia.
I have never been on their concerts before, but I started to like them immediately, because they are amazing and they deserve to be heard, seen and remembered by everyone.

They were eight people on the stage, but it was like one. Probably because the core of the band are playing together from 15-year-old, I don’t know, but the fusion between them is extraordinary.

It is such an inspiration to be there, to see how they enjoy playing and what a lightness there is in the way they are obsessing the audience.

Yes, it is true – you can hear their music very often on the Bulgarian National Radio and that’s what makes it sounds so familiar. But let me say it – it is not a simple coincidence that Mezzoforte’s music is favorite for years for our oldest music editors.

People there just know what’s a good music.

For me it is very hard to write about a concert, because there are no words to bring you there and make you feel the atmosphere, which turned up Hall 1 from a simple hall into a music box where people were breathing, dancing and feeding with music.

How you describe it, when some music is rearranging your whole molecule structure? Impossible!

I am sorry, but I can’t remember all of the band members’ names. But I will not forget the impression they left me – after more than two hours concert they were still playing and looking like they just came out on the stage.

If someone thinks that is enough simply to play a cd with their music at home, is wrong – Mezzoforte are pure joy not only for the ears, but for the eyes as well.

The guy with the sax, for example, all the time dancing, very attractive while playing – like he was a part from the instrument, almost as big as him…

I’ve got only one remark and it is for NDK, of course – because of the technical problems, but the musicians ignored it successfully and made us forget it, too, especially when the drummer (also very nice man, btw) started to play with his sticks on the guitar of one of his colleagues. You are just staying there, watching these guys making fun till working and making all of us feel in the best mood ever.

At the end Vili Stoyanov, Misho Yossifov and the percussionist from Chile, Alfonso Garido (he is known with AC/DC, Metallica and Iron Maiden) joined them. One can never believe they were playing together for the first time.

I won’t tell you more about this concert – only hope that everyone who was there, felt the same as me.

Thank you, Mezzoforte.

You are always welcome here! :-)
